Reappointment with disaster

Why has President Barack Obama reappointed Ben Bernanke as Federal Reserve chairman? Why is he likely to skate through his Senate confirmation hearing? Why do we think Wall Street is more important than the rest of us?

Why?
Why?
Why?

  1. Not sure if you noticed, but I endorsed the Fed audit on the blog and in last week's column in the paper. Secret agencies on the fringe of government are just not good for democracy.

  2. No, I missed that. BTW did you see the congress critter are try to \”steal\” the bill and include \”auditing the Fed\” with other items while gutting it. 🙂 It would be an \”audit\” that audited nothing. The FED is an anti-competitive cartel of bankers. An old fashioned monopoly to ensure that bankers, congress critters, and bureaucrats never go hungry. SINCE 1913! Argh! And don't get me started on FDIC. Clearly we need a free market in \”banking\”. The audit is the first step in how do we get there from here.
