We were in Target today — one of several stores, in fact — looking for holiday cards that we could send to friends who do not celebrate Christmas.
We like to make sure every year that we respect our friends' beliefs — and mine, as well (I am what I would call a non-practicing, agnostic Jewish existentialist). In getting ready to send out cards, we realized that we'd run out of the nondenominational sort, which is why we were on the hunt.
Long story short: Finding a box of cards that doesn't directly mention Christmas or Christ or doesn't use Christmas imagery is almost as difficult as finding the humor in a David Spade bit.
I raise this as a short rejoinder to the “War on Christmas” folks, that paranoid army led by Bill O'Reilly who see every “Happy holdays” or “Seasns greetings” as an assault on tradition. Get over it. Try walking iin my Jewish shoes for a while.

You heard how the White House sent a Hanukkah card with a picture of a Christmas tree on it this year?
