Making fun and raising dough

I have to agree with this. I watched part of Comic Relief last night and was glad to see someone step up to speak on behalf of the victims of Hurricane Katrina and Republican neglect. And I was pleasantly surprised that the comics were not shy about going after the administration. (And many even gave their own cash to the cause.)

So, thumbs up for the funny men and women.

  1. Herb, Herb, Herb, Now you KNOW that I have no use for politicians of either ilk. But to single out the Rs for criticism, isn\’t fair to the Ds, who deserve their fair share of scorn.NOLA was a disaster of the gubamint in general. The flood walls were ignored by all manner of politicians and gubamint hacks. I think if one looks one can find enough blame and shame to go around NOLA, Baton Rouge, and DC, with plenty extra to spare. The only ones who seemed to come off well was WalMart. They actually had the cajones to put an exec in charge and tell him to do something. (If he screwed up, I bet he wouldn\’t have had a lucrative consulting contract!) He had trucks of ice and water in transit BEFORE the storm. It was thwarted by the hacks of gubamint who did want to be made to look worse. But, no surprise, they did manage to look worse by turning the trucks around.Unfortunately the media (you), and the gliteratti (hollywood), insists on weighing in one side of a losing game. More government? The constant whine is \”\”If \”our side\” was in charge it woulda been different\”\”. Please! Don\’t challenge limits of faith. Who was in charge of those floodwalls for two DECADES of criminal neglect? Both the Ds and the Rs!!No, anyone who depends on gubamint for ANYTHING does so at their own peril. In NOLA, people were killed. But, the politicians of both ilks seems to never be held to account.Sigh. Maybe the media will stop its incestuous relationship with both the Ds and the Rs and hold their collective feet to the fire.Too much to hope.
