Seven miles in 62:11 — an 8:53 pace.
Mix on the iPod again — different one though, featuring Beatles and Bob Dylan.

Two days for the price of one!
Tuesday (since I didn’t have time yesterday to post this) was a four-mile day — four miles in 35:44 to be exact, while listening to a mixed playlist.
I followed with another four-mile run today, this time in 36:20 while listening to a reworked version of the same mix.

A fourth run for the week — five miles in 44:26, a 8:51 pace.
Today’s iPod selection: My Chemical Romance, The Black Parade — a surprisingly good album, pretentious in a good way, very big and electric.

Tuesday:
Yes, I did run yesterday — on the treadmill at the gym: four miles in 35 and change, a pretty good pace, but my knee was killing me.
Music selection: The Beatles, Yellow Submarine
Wednesday:
Five miles in 44:40 while listening to John Mellencamp’s new disc, Freedom’s Road.
That’s 12 miles so far after last week’s 14. Friday’s minimum run, then has to be five miles, though we’ll see.
And yes, I did run inside today even though the weather was magnificent. My plan is to charge the GPS (measures my mileage and pace as I run) so I can get out Friday or next week.
Unless I can develop some novel excuses.
(No run tomorrow, in case anyone cares. Must take the car in for some basic maintenance.)

I forgot to post about this yesterday, which is odd considering I had such an outstanding run.
I started out with a goal of running four miles — on the treadmill; still too cold — and wasn’t sure if I’d get that in at the beginning.
But then things clicked and I pushed the pace and added distance, finishing with seven miles in 62:40 (approx.), for a better than 9-minute-per-mile pace. I did leave it all on the treadmill, so to speak, finishing with a cramp in the foot and a sore left knee.
Today, however, I was feeling the after-effects: tight muscles that wouldn’t loosen and a still-sore knee. But I managed to get in three miles (actually 3.1) in about 29 minutes.
The iPod selection on both days was a mixed playlist that includes a little punk, a little country, some folk, The Beatles and Dylan.
