Runner’s diary, Friday

Today marked the end of the first week in a long time that I managed to get in five runs. Did four miles on the treadmill in just over 36 minutes (listening to a mix) and then hit the weights. That means a total of 19 miles for the week with plans to add another two to three miles next week, including a six-mile run.

Long Beach Island, here we come!

By the way, I’m hoping to turn the run into a way to raise money for the local soup kitchens and food pantries. I’ll be posting info on that shortly, so stay tuned.

Runner’s diary, Thursday

Three miles up Ridge, to Perrine and onto Schalks Crossing — dodging cars and whatnot. Managed a 27:48, but lost about 15-25 seconds waiting to cross Ridge at the Schalks Crossing light.

That’s a total of 15 miles so far. Figure me for a four-miler tomorrow and a goal of 20-22 miles next week.

Runner’s diary, Wednesday

Five miles in just under 50 minutes — a tough, slower-than-preferred run, but a productive one in that I stretched the length out on the road, rather than the treadmill.

Today on the iPod: a mix featuring Bob Dylan, The Clash, Dwight Yoakam, Tom Jones, the Kooks, the Beachboys, etc.
