I don’t know where I found the gas in the tank, but I cranked out seven in an embarressing 66-plus minutes. But it is vacation.

A nice breeze blowing toward the ocean kept me cool this morning, but it also felt like pushing a blocking sled when I ran into it. Still, a nice first run of the vacation — five miles in 44:47.

Runner’s diary, Thursday
I have a hdeadache. My achilles hurt. My right hamstring is tight. I overslept. I am full of excuses this morning.
But I did run four miles in 36:14. Not fast, but steady, and it keeps me at a pace for at least 20 for a four-day running week.

Runner’s diary, Wednesday
Put in five miles on the road today in 45:51 — not a great pace, but that’s OK. I could still feel the impact of yesterday’s seven-miler and the bad heel I’m dealing with.
