Runner’s diary, Tuesday

I got in a nice run on the treadmill this morning and then lifted — a good three-miler while listening to the Fleet Foxes.

Runner’s diary, Monday

Despite pain from the vain attempt I made yesterday to chop the ice off our driveway — pain in the ankles, pain in the knees, sore arms, shoulders and back — I got on the treadmill and ran three miles. I don’t know how, but I pushed on through.

Runner’s diary, Wednesday

A nice run this morning, three miles in 26:15 followed by some upper-body weight work. I needed it and have to continue to push through with this kind of effort. If only I had the time.

Runner’s diary, Tuesday

I need to be more consistent — three days a week just doesn’t cut it, leaving me to muddle along with three-mile runs. I need to build both distance and speed — and drop some of this extra weight I’ve been carrying.

So, three miles today must become four miles tomorrow and so on.

Broken Cord: An Anthology of Writing on Alzheimer’s and Dementia

We are looking to raise seed money for an anthology of writing on Alzheimer’s and dementia. The anthology will be the first project from a new small press. All proceeds will go to research and care groups. Contributors who donate $20 or more will get copies of the anthology and a mention on the acknowledgements page. Writers, we are looking for poems, fiction, and essays on dementia and Alzheimer’s. They can be from any perspective — care-givers, family, the person with dementia.
