I think this is probably the most dispiriting portion of the debate, focusing on the military with both candidates endorsing the kind of militarism that has been so detrimental to our credibility abroad and budgets at home.

Obama may have just won the debate, connecting with voters on health care by 1) calling it a right and 2) showing his anger over the indignity his mother faced having to deal with hospital administrators and insurance companies while she was dying of cancer.

Obama is showing that he understands the health care issue far better than McCain.
