I don’t have much to add to this post from Jill at Brilliant at Breakfast, except to say that this appears to be part of a troubling trend for the preseumptive Democrtic nominee as he attempts to navigate the rough waters of the general election.
While I expected some movement to the right — it would have been foolish to expect otherwise — but this is ridiculous: First, his comments on Israel to AIPAC, then the FISA capitulation and now his promise to continue the Bush administration’s faith-based initiative.
Obama is looking more and more like Bill Clinton everyday.

Here is a new toy I found on the Web — alerted to it by NY Times Health Writer Gina Kolata, whom I interviewed for a story on running taht will run in our over-50 magazine. The mapping tool can be found at http://www.mapmyrun.com/.
It allows you to map out and save your running routes, calculating mileage for you while giving you a chance to experiment without being out there in the hot sun. It is quite cool. I’ll try and post occasional maps with my running posts in the future.
Today’s map shows the route I ran Monday and today — a little over five miles. I am without a GPS right now, so I have no idea what my time is, but that maybe to the good. I’ll see how it goes for a while.

This is what passes for budget reform in this state — an executive order that can be rescinded by any future governor. Great.
I think it was a five-mile run, but I can’t be sure because my GPS died. I plugged it in when I got home, but it doesn’t appear to be charging. Ugh.
