An interesting angle on the Route 92 EIS taken by my reporter Joseph Harvie today. There is a wealth of incomplete information in the EIS, but the one thing that keeps coming back is that widening Route 1 will make a real difference.
It may make no difference but, as we say in our editorial, the state should listen to that part of the report and get the highway widened.

A collision in the outfield — Edmonds looks injured, but given the way he’s swung the bat (aside from a dinger early in the series) that may not be to the Mets’ advantage.
Perez coming out for the sixth inning. We need runs.

The scariest moment of the game — Oliver Perez facing Albert Pujols with two on after Perez hits Eckstein with a pitch and strikes out Preston Wilson. Pujols pops to short and the inning is over. Perez continues to pitch on borrowed time, exceeding expectations. But I believe he leads off, so maybe done. We’ll see. Hard to read Willie Randolph.

Twelve outs from Oliver Perez, so far, only one run. He’s doing what he’s being asked to do — when will the bats awake?
