My ears and head hurt this morning, but it was worth it — Art Brut was on fire, playing much of their latest album and a comprehensive overview of their two previous releases.

I'll offer more detail later, but I just wanted to say, “Bang, bang, rock and roll”!

Cymbals Eat Guitars is the openong act tonight at Johnny Brenda's in Philly for Art Brut. They're quite good, if derivative — Pavement meet Dinosaur Jr., which is not a terrible combination when you get down to it.

Leave it to the pups to dig up a bunnie nest with five tiny rabbits not quite old enough to walk. It was raining late Friday and I had them on the leash in the backyard when I heard a squeak like a dog toy — but more urgent and less industrial.

I checked and discovered the rabbits, walked the dogs away and went back later. I found four bunnies in a state resembling shock. I kept the dogs away and waited for the rain to stop.

Finally, I went out in the back with Annie'sister to corral ther rabbits in a shoe box until I could dig a hole on the other side of the fence for a new nest, where we placed what turned out to be five bunnies.

Dogs are a lot of fun, aren't they.

Here's Annie's Coco Moco at Rockn' Joe, the coffee shop around the house. We're being bad — apple pie a la mode, coffee. We'll start eating healthy again on Monday (or Tuesday if there's something tasty to nosh).

I had a brief conversation with a student this afternoon, a American Muslim with family in Cairo, Egypt, just one day after President's Cairo speech designed to reset our nation's relationship with the Muslim world.

She said there is an openness, at least among her family members, to the new president — so much so, in fact, that they've asked her to bring Obama t-shirts when she visits next week.

Elections, apparently, do have consequences.
