Watching the game, 1

OK, a different kind of game so far than last night, Mets getting three in the first with Jose Reyes getting off the schnide and Carlos Delgado bashing another one out.

But then the first baseman help facilitate some Cardinal scoring by misplaying a bouncer off Scott Speizio’s bat.

I like that the team has started fast against the Cards’ ace — the best starter in the National League the last two years. But it is early and John Maine is looking shaky.

Did Pujols really say that?

Albert Pujols may be the best hitter on the planet, but he found a way to look unexpectedly classless here (Pujols usually is one of baseball’s more gracious players, so this was a surprise). I want to make sure I understand this: Tom Glavine wasn’t good last night? He didn’t toss a four-hitter and keep the best hitter on the planet from getting a hit? He didn’t strike him out in the first inning? Granted Glavine had defensive help, but it was the Mets who scored two runs and not the Cards.
