This kind of thinking from Biden — and the overall argument from Zionists — places American Jews in the position of second-class citizens, and endorses the dangerous dual-loyalty trope.
Jews can’t be safe here without Israel, so our loyalty ultimately should lie with Israel. Ergo, we are all Israelis and not full Americans. This is the upshot if Biden’s argument— and the one Trump has been making for sometime
The premise is false, but it hasn’t stopped Biden, Trump, AIPAC, etc. from making the argument. |
