Four more death-row inmates are being spared execution. A year after Maryland eliminated the death penalty for all future cases, outgoing Gov. Martin O’Malley has commuted those not covered by the 2013 legislation.
As Think Progress reports, O’Malley said in a statement that “state executions make every citizen a party to a legalized killing as punishment.”
If only states like Texas and Oklahoma would follow suit.
