Scheer’s clear take

Robert Scheer, in a column that I should have linked to yesterday, offers probably the clearest takeaway from Tuesday’s election results. “Hey, stupid,” to paraphrase the 1992 Clinton campaign, “it’s the economy!’

  1. Many Democrats, especially the ones in conservative states or areas, seem to be afraid to admit that they are indeed Democrats. The right wing successfully demonized and slimed the L word, liberal, that no self-respecting Democrat would ever admit to being an actual live living in the flesh liberal. It looks like the D word or Democrat is going the same way. Blue Dog Dem: Who me, a Democrat, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, I'm a D in name only, I'm really a Gopper super conservative. Now Gibb is saying that they may reconsider the Bush tax cuts for the rich and they may extend them for a few more years. Yecch! More Obama giving in, caving in, moving to the right. Obama is a socialist and I'm Pope Pius XII and when pigs fly.Obama caved in on health care; single payer was not even on this planet and the public option was dumped so he could cave in to the right wing and the medical-industrial-insurance complex. It looks like EFCA will never happen with the GOP in control in the House and Obama and the Democrats are too gutless and too beholden to corporate America to do anything any how. If the Democratic party moves any further right, they might as well disband the party and call themselves GOP light. I am so disgusted with gutless, spineless DINO Democrats. They have betrayed the legacy of FDR.
