This man is running for Congress

The man standing second from the right in the above photo —  Republican Rich Iott — is a candidate for Ohio’s Ninth district Congressional seat. And yes, the Tea Party favorite is dressed in a Nazi SS uniform as part of a re-enactment group (read this blog post from The Atlantic).

I’d laugh if there wasn’t a chance that a man who played at being a Nazi soldier could end up in the U.S. House of Representatives. Just too freakishly weird.

  1. It's just appalling and disgusting that a neo-Nazi freak like this is even running for elected office. There is a difference between the parties. The GOP is running a whole slew of hard right wing Neanderthal candidates: Joe Miller, Sharron Angle, Christine O'Donnell, Rand Paul, etc., ad nauseam. Some of these tea bag freaks will make it to the Congress and the Senate adding to the already right wing freakazoids in Congress such as Michelle Bachmann, Steve King, Jim Demint and many more. They hate government and dearly would love to kill Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Obama's health care plan, anything that helps ordinary people. The right wing fringe, libertarians, Birchers are taking over, they want to take us back to 1929 and Hoovervilles. Please, don't tell me there is no difference between the parties.

  2. It's dumb for some one \”worship\” any thing to do with the Nazis. Before someone \”re-enacts\”, it would be nice if they knew everything about it. If they were reenacting a battle, someone has to play the bad guys.I'm not sure that it means anything more than the fellow hasn't thought the implications. He may actually believe that tripe they are serving.I do think it is IMPORTANT that all assholes are encouraged to speak freely. That way, we can examine all the candidates for unacceptable behavior. We need to weed out all the National Socialists, Communists, or even just plain old Socialists like the current crew in the District of Corruption!
