David Sirota sums up this news in a tweet:
This is EXTREMELY bad news for the already-dying world of serious journalism
Yes, Bill Moyers is retiring, meaning the Journal will end — at the same time that Now, the show he created and that David Brancaccio stewarded so well is being cancelled. Maybe it’s time to get rid of the television.

OMG, no, no, no, no, this can't be. I mainline NOW and Bill Moyers every Friday night. This is horrible news, they are two of the very few news shows that tell the truth about our corporate owned democracy (republic). I feel educated, informed and enlightened after having watched these two excellent shows. The corporate controlled mainstream media does precious little muckraking. The mainstream media is mostly covering balloon boy, Michael Jackson, Anna Nicole Smith and the latest car chases. This is comparable to losing Molly Ivins or Paul Wellstone.Moyers and Brancaccio are irreplaceable. They are alive thank God, but they will be missing from the air waves (cables).
