A night at McCarter with the Texans Five stars for Escovedo

Alejandro Escovedo played a short, but brutally efficient set, inluding several from Real Animal and something from a stage production with which he was involved. There were several highlights, to offer an understatement, inluding an aggressive and explosive “Chelsea Hotel” that, while featuring two acoustic guitars, a violin and toms, offered a taste of what Escovedo must sound like with a full band.
