Runner’s diary, Friday

This was a fairly solid week, even if I had trouble getting loose. I capped off a five-day running week with an eight-mile jaunt — in a not-so-quick 85 minutes (about) — getting outside for the first time in a while. My legs are stiff now, but the soreness seems to be subsiding, so we will see. Total for the week is 23 miles.

I basically have about five weeks of training before the race, with a week of rest (light running and other cardio), to double my mileage. Next week, if all goes well, I plan to run 25 and do 25-27 the rest of the way, with next week’s long run planned for 10.

Goal is 10 next week, 12 the first week in September, a 14-miler by Sept. 14 and a 16-miler by Sept. 21, then tick it down the week of Sept. 28 and a light week leading into the race.

LBI here we come.
