Watching the game, 1

Steve Trachsel leaves the game in the second inning with an injury — a line drive banged into his leg — and Darren Oliver takes over.

I think the injury was his pitching itself. When theMets needed a big outing he turned in a big dud, as bad as it really could get on a night that the Mets needed inniings and a rest for their bullpen.

Watching Trachsel pitch on a good day is like watching paint dry. Watching him tonight was like watching a bad horror movie — all scary scenes but no humor.

So now we have to hope that Darren Oliver can contain the damage — two more in already, but now there are two outs. He has to go four.

And we need the offense to get going.
