Nat Hentoff explains why the so-called compromise on detainee rights reached by the president and the so-called GOP rebels — John McCain, Lindsey Graham and John Warner (and where is Chuck Hagel on this, anway?) — not only is not a win-win, but a lose-lose. The detainees lose, American troops lose and, more generally, we all lose because it compromises the U.S. Constitution and shreds the Geneva Conventions.
